The rain was pouring down as our first group of students and faculty united at the Mumbai Airport after over 24 hours of travel. Professor Mandayam welcomed each traveler with an abundance of water, jokes and cultural translations. Our students curiously watched the Mumbai residents, inquisitively asking questions about Indian customs and languages. We were transported to the Tata Institute of Social Sciences to settle into our guest rooms.Our global immersion courses will begin in
a few days as we acclimate and explore the
Indian culture.
